In Julian Rosefeldt’s monumental film installation Manifesto, the Oscar winning Australian actor appears in 13 different roles. Be it as a homeless woman, a eulogist, a punk or a choreographer, Blanchett speaks texts from artists’ 20th century manifestos. Rosefeldt assembled these quotations into a text collage and situated them in the present to demonstrate the persistent relevance of the heated protests.
