The bronze sculpture Abram and Buruś is a self-portrait of the artist. It arose in connection with a drawing he made after a hypnosis session, during which Althamer saw himself as a Jewish boy walking through the Warsaw ghetto with his dog. The stick in his hand is a reference to the artist’s love of nature.
