Pickelporno

With playfulness and sensuality, Pipilotti Rist explores the human body and its capacity for pleasure. In her film Pickelporno, she follows the amorous play between a man and a woman, alternating between the perspectives of the sexual partners. Although the title may raise different expectations, the work has little in common with a normal porn film. Here, the extreme close-ups of intimate parts of the body are spliced with shots of nature and psychedelic imagery. By digitally post-processing the film material, employing unfamiliar angles, and incorporating intense colours, the artist also aims to make deeper forms of physiological arousal visible. Another important design element is the soundtrack, which drives the events to a climax.
